The Rajasthan State


Rajasthan is known as The land of Kings is the largest state of the India, located in North Western part of the Country. For a long time, it was occupied by the Rajputs still, they respect them to this very day. Royal Rajputs of Rajasthan are said to be the non-Aryan stock but warriors of Vedic India or Kshatriyas. The Indus Valley Civilization is often considered to be one of the first and the oldest civilizations of the world was situated in Rajasthan. Include in the list – accurate culture embodying the spirit of the Thar desert, monumental forts and palaces, temples and Geographical/seasonal fairs and festivals.

Rajasthan state consists one of the largest desert of the world known as the Thar desert of India. Besides the big mountains, blue sea, green forest, and white land of Kashmir, the Thar desert “Ocean of Sand” another important query point for the tourist interested in visiting India. The royal state is also the place having hosting one of the largest stretches of desert fair, camel safari and various species of wild desert animals. The Rajasthan Desert also known as the Great Indian Desert is one of the largest isolated arid regions of the world located in western Rajasthan. The largest desert in India known as the Great Indian Desert or the Thar Desert region of Rajasthan is the seventh largest desert in the world.

 
Thar Desert

The Great Desert of India lies in the southwest and extends to eastern border of the Aravalli Ranges in the east, and to the south extends to the Rann of Kutch and to the west it is bounded by the Indus River. Offering varied geographical conditions, the Indian desert has a fairly diverse pocket of flora and fauna, There are as many as 23 species of lizards and 25 species of snakes in the region some of which are specific to the area. Animal life that is found in the desert includes: Wild cats, Blackbuck and Indian wild ass. Experiential tour would be conducted in a camel safari trip through the Thar desert.

Forts

Rajasthan is all famous for the forts and palaces built by Great Maharajas of Rajasthan like Chattle, Udaipur, Jodhpur , Bikaner etc. A total of there is around 14 forts in Rajasthan and Chittorgarh fort is largest fort in India and biggest in Rajasthan. The second largest fort of the world is named as Jaisalmer Fort which is also familiar as “Golden Fort situated in the city Jaisalmer. ” Other major forts of Rajasthan are Mehrangarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Amber Fort, the forts of Jodhpur and an elegant Jaigarh Fort famously known as Cheel ka Teela translated to the Hill of Eagles, standing aloft the Aravalli hills.

 
Palaces

The place of Maharajas is known for its great garden, architectural temples, and majestic palace. There are many examples of them such as Alsisar Haveli, City Palaces, Hawa Mahal, Lake Palace, Umaid Bhavan, and Jai Mahal. Owing to its rich historical past, Jodhpur boasts of one of the largest private residences in the world at Chittar Hill known as the Umaid Bhawan Palace. About Water Palace – Jal Mahal is situated in the centre of the Man Sagar Lake in the city of Jaipur, known for pink color. I found these palaces to be excellent works of Rajput architecture with built from red and pink sand stones.

 

Culture

Rajasthan is probably the most colorful state in India in terms of culture; it has its own variety of colorful dances, customs, and music. Classical music dancing with its refined spirit recognized as a traditional art of Rajasthan is also regarded as an important and splendid. There are two types of folk dances to mention: The Ghoomar, originating in Udaipur and; the Kalbeliya of Jaisalmer. They wear a lot of embellishment like mirrors and embroidery; females of Rajasthan use to wear chaniya choli on a regular basis. However, the major income for earning in Rajasthan is agricultural and animal herding since the place is arid.

Cuisines

The local cookery of Rajasthan is quite diverse and boast and have a very distinct taste. The potion of rajasthani food is really appealing and is a delight for food lovers, some of the popular food items include dal bati churma, traditional rajasthani thali and sweets also. The most famous Rajasthani cuisine is freshly cooked dal which is served along with baati and churma. Some more of the popular food items of this region are Mawa Kachori of Jodhpur, Alwar ka mawa, Malpauas of Pushkar, Ghevar of Jaipur and Rassgollas of Bikaner. Fair and Festivals

The largest state of India, Rajasthan is also famous for its brighten fairs and festivals, some of the exotic festivals celebrated here are called Teej festival and Desert festival. The famed Pushkar livestock Fair or an extensive five day Camel Fair is the largest Camel Fair globally. Rajasthan has many exciting places which are worth seeing, such as the oldest city Pushkar known for its beautiful lake, its ghats, and The Brahma temple. Bharatpur Brij Festival also known as Brij Mahotsava is among the prominent fairs/ festivals that are held in Rajasthan before the Holi festivities, The well-known festival pay homage to Lord Krishna. One of the largest deserts in the world, Thar desert, invites the tourists to attend one of the most famous Indian fests – the Rajasthan Desert Festival, also known as Desert Festival Of Jaisalmer. The event called Desert Festival was introduced to show that the desert regions are beautiful and the people living there are hospitable, with their unique culture and customs.

 
Shopping

The contested land is the shoppers’ paradise and co radixionally famous for making handicrafts and hand looms. Jaipur the Pink City of India: This city of Rajathan is regarded as the best for buying jewelries ,clothes to shoem etc. . Some of the most famous markets include; the Jauhari Bazaar, Bapu Bazaar, Nehru Bazaar, the MI Road, and Tripolia Bazaar. Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan: In Jaipur, people are much involved in trading dealing jewelry, gems, and stone that are in varied design, style, and colour. Renowned products include Puppets from Jaisalmer, Pottery from Jaipur, and handicrafts from Bikaner etc.

Wildlife

The Royal state provides shelter for many species of animals that are found in the desert as well as other types of wildlife. It has 6 national parks include Ranthambore, Sariska, Desert National Park and 21 wildlife Sanctuaries across the country where Keoladeo also known as Bharatpur bird sanctuary is located. The renowned Ranthambore National Park can be found on the entrance of the Thar region and it is bounded by the Vindhya and the Aravali Ranges. Only in the desert some of the fast vanishing wildlife species of India can still be sighted like The Great Indian Bustard, Blackbuck, Indian Wild Ass, caracal wild cat and many other native desert wild life of insects, lizards , snakes etc.
