Buland Darwaza In Fatehpur Sikri

Buland Darwaza is an ancient gateway present at Fatehpur Sikri, India and it stands as a splendid specimen of Mughal architecture. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1575 to celebrate his triumph over Gujarat, the impressive portal highlights unmistakable imprints of majestic power and structural aptitude.

Architecture of Buland Darwaza:-

Buland Darwaza is a mixed Mughal-Persian architecture style (Mixture of Persian and Indian architecture) aesthetics utilized by Akbar's architect Stesco. It is 54 meters tall and 35 meters wide, one of the tallest gateways in the world. Don't miss the delicate carvings, calligraphy, and inlay work of white and black marble. The middle arch is adorned with smaller and curvy arches, crowned by chhatris from the top which makes it look like a king.

The Buland Darwaza, built mostly of red sandstone and decorated with marble, is a towering structure. This entire structure, along with its vast courtyard covers a major area of the Fatehpur Sikri complex.

Entry fees for Buland Darwaza are 50/- INR rupees per Indian visitor and Only 600/- INR Rs. for others. under 15 will get free entry! It is open every day from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, so this leaves you plenty of time for a full-day visit.
