It is a historical garden complex on which one end of the Taj Mahal can be seen from Mehtab Bagh. The Moonlight Garden, literally translated from Bagh-e-Babur was founded by Emperor Babur in the early 16th century and served as one of eleven Mughal gardens that have been built near banks along the Yamuna.

History of Mehtab Bagh:-
Mehtab Bagh was an essential piece of the Taj Mahal complex and a perfect setting to capture this photo. Beneath the moonlight, the garden and its large pool were to enjoy a contemplative view of the Taj Mahal. Time had taken its toll on the garden, however meticulous restoration work by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has brought it back to life.

What Architecture and Materials were used in Mehtab Bagh? :-
It covers an area of 25 acres (101171.3 sq meters) and follows a classic Charbagh pattern, four quarters separated by walkways with water channels running through them. You can see the symmetry and natural beauty that is an integral feature of Mughal landscaping aesthetics in this architecture. The garden is designed with white plaster walkways, water fountains & beautiful blooming fragrance flowers which make the place calm.

It is spread over an area of 25 acres, hence it is a major green space present in the city. The area is so beautiful with all of the verdant greens around and water reflecting pool, it became everybody's favorite photography spot as well to chill.
